Opportunities for Global Study and Exchange
Rather than simply study global business issues, many
Clark GSOM students choose to travel outside the U.S. through the school's
Global Business Seminar course and exchange programs. Students can choose
from three different programs: Global Business Seminar , Northern
Europe Program, and Exchange Programs. Global Business Seminar combines lectures, readings and discussion
at Clark with a week of instruction by Clark faculty and resident business
executives and guest lecturers in a foreign capital city, such as Paris. Students examine current global business events
in the context of economic and political policy and management experience. Classes are first held in the spring
semester at Clark's Worcester campus, followed by a week of seminars and field
trips to the chosen international center of commerce. Doing Business in Northern Europe is an intensive four-week program
(typically offered in May)
that combines lectures, readings, discussion, and a project paper with language
and culture instruction at Vaxjo University in Sweden. Instruction (in English) is provided by the
faculty of Vaxjo's School of Management and Economics. Students examine current business practices
in the context of economic, political and management experience. The course includes field trips to several
Scandinavian businesses.
Exchange Programs. Second-year GSOM students may enroll in one of Clark's three
exchange programs and apply credits for four courses to their Clark degree. Panthéon
Sorbonne, Université de Paris I, Paris, France
The exchange program with Panthéon Sorbonne is
designed to facilitate full-time study in graduate business programs for
students who have already completed graduate management degrees and wish to
spend a year studying abroad for another graduate degree. Students with an MBA or MSF degree may study
for the DEA or DESS degree at the Sorbonne.
All classroom instruction is in French.
