Improving mental health service delivery in Worcester

Rosalie Torres and Esteban Cardemil

A recent mental health needs assessment found worse indicators of mental health in Worcester than in Massachusetts as a whole, attributed in part to limited coordination among mental healthcare and community-based social service organizations. Clark professors Rosalie Torres Stone (sociology) and Esteban Cardemil (psychology) are working with the Worcester Provider Alliance (WPA), a coalition of mental health and social services agencies dedicated to improving communication, coordination, and referrals among different provider organizations, especially as they impact culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
