Frey Appointed Associate Editor of Journal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences

Marsh Institute Researcher and Professor of Geography Karen Frey has been appointed Associate Editor of the Journal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences, which publishes original research articles, methods, and data articles on the biogeosciences of the Earth system in the past, present and future and the extension of this research to planetary studies. Over the past 25 years, Frey has conducted field-based research in West and East Siberia, the North Slope of Alaska, as well as the Bering, Chukchi, and Beaufort Seas. She has additionally advised research in Greenland, Antarctica, and the Hindu-Kush Himalayan region. Her most recent work focuses on the biological and biogeochemical impacts of sea ice decline in polar shelf environments as well as the hydrological and biogeochemical impacts of terrestrial permafrost degradation across the Arctic.
