Configuring your Instant Messaging client

In order to receive instant message alerts from Clark ALERTS, you must allow your instant messaging client to accept messages from sources that are not currently on your friends/buddy list.

Instructions for AOL Instant Messenger (AIM and AIMX)

To allow non-buddy messages in AOL Instant Messenger you need to open up the "Settings" menu under the "Edit" tab of the client. Within the "Settings" menu, select the "Privacy" tab on the left side of the menu box, and click on "Allow All Users to Contact Me." Click "Save," and now you can receive messages from the ALERTS program.

Edit > Settings > Privacy > Allow All Users to Contact Me

Instructions for Microsoft Windows Live Messenger (MSN)
