Office of the Dean of the College
The Dean of the College is responsible for the development and implementation of undergraduate academic programs and policies, and the evaluation of teaching effectiveness. The Dean has broad responsibility for undergraduate curriculum, co-curricular activities, faculty development, and advising. The Dean of the College works closely with the Undergraduate Academic Board (UAB), the major faculty committee that reviews proposals for new courses, majors, concentrations and academic requirements and assesses existing programs and requirements.
The following departments report to the Dean:
- Academic Advising Services, directed by Senior Associate Dean Kevin McKenna
- LEEP Center, directed by Associate Dean Michelle Bata
- Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL)
The Dean’s office also oversees the Fall Salute to Scholars and Spring Honors Convocation. The Dean chairs or coordinates several university-wide undergraduate student awards committees.
