The world needs people who can communicate across cultures.
At Clark’s Department of Language, Literature, and Culture, students gain new ways of understanding the world by engaging deeply with people, ideas, cultures, and communities. With close mentorship and a vibrant interdisciplinary community, you’ll develop the language proficiency and intercultural competency to make a meaningful contribution to the world.
We offer language courses in: Arabic, ASL, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Japanese, Latin, and Spanish.
“Leading discussion sessions helps me freshen up my own Japanese skills. In today’s globalized world, I believe it is so important to learn languages since it helps us better understand and communicate with people from other cultures.”
