international center logoClark is excited to welcome international students to campus on Monday, Aug. 22, 2022, a few days before the undergraduate and graduate Orientations begin.

International Student Welcome (ISW) provides you with the opportunity to build friendships with other international students and get to know campus. You also will receive important information that will help you be successful during your time at Clark.

ISW is required for all international students and is optional for U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are living outside of the U.S.

The International Center is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. For after-hours student emergencies, please contact University Police at 1-508-793-7575.

2022 International Student Welcome Schedule

10 a.m. Airport Shuttle Pickup

Location: Boston Logan International Airport

Pre-registration required. Registration deadline has passed.

12:30 p.m. Lunch in the Dining Hall (Undergraduate Students)

Location: Dining Hall University Center

Meet at the International Center to walk over as a group.

4 p.m. Airport Shuttle Pickup

Location: Boston Logan International Airport

Pre-registration required. Registration deadline has passed.

Please Note

*The International Center will be open and staffed from 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Monday, August 22.

**Undergraduate on-campus room keys will be available in the International Center until 7 p.m. on Monday, August 22. They will be available at University Police (Bullock Hall basement, 508-793-7575) after 7 p.m., and will also be available at Check-In on Tuesday, August 23.

9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Immunization Clinic

Location: Dolan Field House, 97 Beaver St.

10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Check-In

Location: Tilton Hall, University Center

Check-in arrival times are staggered by the first letter of the student’s last/family name:

  • A – E: 10 – 11 a.m.
  • F – J: 11 a.m. – Noon
  • K – O: Noon – 1 p.m.
  • P – T: 1 – 1:45 p.m.
  • U – Z: 1:45 – 2:45 p.m.

6 – 7 p.m. Welcome Dinner with President Fithian ’87 and Provost Royo

Location: Tilton Hall, University Center

This event is at capacity.

*20% Off at the Campus Store on Tuesday, August 23 ONLY! Pick up your Clark gear! The Campus Store will be open from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

9 a.m. – Noon Immigration and Information Sessions

Location: Jefferson 320

Required for all international students.

IDCE students: Please plan to attend the makeup immigration session on Friday, August 26.

12:30 – 2 p.m. Global Mentorship Program Lunch and Meet Peer Mentors (Undergraduate Students)

Location: Tilton Hall, University Center

Eat lunch and meet your International Center staff mentor. At the end of the lunch, you will be introduced to your Peer Mentors for Orientation!

12:30 – 1:15 p.m. Introduction to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (Graduate Students)

Location: Jefferson 320

Boxed lunches will be available at the end of the session.

2 – 5 p.m. Games and Snacks on the Lawn (Undergraduate Students)

Location: International Center Backyard

4 p.m. Graduate Student Welcome

Graduate Student Social to follow on the Campus Green (rain location: Kneller Athletic Center).

9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Parent/Family Welcome with International Center Staff (Optional for International Student Families)

Location: International Center Room 102, 142 Woodland Street

Families of new international students are invited for breakfast to meet the International Center staff.

9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Tour of the Library and Introduction to Library Resources

Location: Goddard Library

Take a tour of the Goddard Library and learn about the many resources available to students. If you are interested in attending the Library Tour, fill out this form.

3 – 4 p.m. Make-Up Immigration Session

Location: Zoom https://clarku.zoom.us/j/98530501286

If you missed the morning Immigration Session on Wednesday, August 23, please plan to attend this session. You will receive important immigration information for your time in the U.S. and at Clark.

2 – 7 p.m. Worcester Red Sox Game (Undergraduate Students)

Location: Polar Park (bus leaves the International Center for Polar Park at 1:30 PM)

Enjoy a VIP tour of Polar Park and a short baseball lesson before the Worcester Red Sox vs. Buffalo Bisons game! New undergraduate international students only. Pre-registration required. Limited capacity.

As a new international student, you have many tasks to complete before coming to Clark: ensuring you have health insurance; securing on-campus or off-campus housing; completing the arrival form by July 26; and, if using the airport shuttle, completing the airport shuttle sign-up form by July 26.
