After earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees through Clark’s five-year Accelerated Degree Program, Gemma Wilkens was recently named the City of Gloucester’s first sustainability coordinator. In her new position, Wilkens leads the historic seaport’s response to climate change, long-term energy goals, and resiliency projects.

“The faculty at Clark are MVPs,” Wilkens says. “They put a lot of their time and energy not just into meeting their research goals, but also into making it a good experience for students and making room for students in their work. Now, everywhere I look, I see Clark students popping up in the world of municipal sustainability and energy efficiency work.”
