Farmers have acres of fields to look after, and it can be hard to spot an insect infestation before crops endure significant damage. What if a robot could help?
That’s a question computer science Professor Gary Holness and his students are tackling in Clark’s robotics lab, the Laboratory for Intelligent Perceptual Systems.
A lot of the work being done isn’t covered in any textbooks, Holness says. “This is hands-on learning and the discovery process in its purest form.”
