Chenyang Zhao (GISDE '2013)

Chenyang Zhao (China) received his BS degree in GIS from Nanjing Normal University, Jiangsu, China. In his undergraduate years, he participated in a project combining GIS Spatial Analysis Technique with RS Image and Software to inspect the Taihu Lake Blue Algae. He also spent two weeks in Lushan Mountain doing the geological study, collecting geological data and using GIS method to analyze how human beings interact with natural environment. His final graduation project dealt with the Vegetation Classification Based on High-Resolution Satellite Image by using data of Lushanregion collected by CBERS and aims at improving the accuracy of traditional way of Vegetation Classification and better serving the local government and peasants. His research interests focus on using GIS to solve real problems caused by human activities on earth.
