Huong Nguyen (IDSC '2013)

Huong Nguyen (Vietnam) has worked for eleven years as an Information, Education and Communication (IEC) expert at the Vietnam Women’s Union in Hanoi, Vietnam, where she is responsible for drafting legal documents and monitoring the implementation of policy and laws relating to women and children in Vietnam. She also participates in the preparation of the proposals submitted to the Prime Minister on vocational training and job services for women. Being an IEC expert, she plays a leading role in planning steering plans, establishing action plans and implementing activities related to gender issues, promoting women’s rights, and protecting and supporting vulnerable groups. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Hanoi University of Law and a Master’s degree in Law from Hanoi National University. She has attended training courses on gender and women’s issues in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Australia.
