Students in Professor Sherry Freyermuth\u2019s Identity in Practice course designed competing logo concepts for the Harold Stevens Gallery, a community arts space just steps from campus. The project was a full creative cycle: research, design, client presentation, a public exhibition where gallery visitors voted on their favorites, and even a press release the students wrote and distributed themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sophie Lee \u201926 won the popular vote with a typography-driven design built on overlapping letters. \u201cI am 100 percent a better graphic designer than I would’ve been before I took this class,\u201dsays Beverly Peterson \u201926, one of several students who designed for the project. For a gallery born from a community radio station’s history, the collaboration was as much about honoring a legacy as building a new one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
