We manage and ensure compliance for externally funded research and projects here at Clark. The Office of Sponsored Programs and Research (OSPR) is responsible for the review, submission, and acceptance of University-based research, training, technical assistance, or educational projects involving funds, materials, or other compensation from outside sources.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>

The President of Clark University designates the Associate Provost and Dean of Research as the authorizing official responsible for implementing research policy. The Research Board is a faculty governance committee that provides advice and counsel to the Associate Provost and Dean of Research on matters pertaining to research and scholarship at the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dean also supports and oversees the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee (IACUC), the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), and the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, as well as OSPR in the administration, management and compliance of externally funded university-based research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because external funding imposes certain legal obligations on the University with respect to its use, management, and accountability, OSPR works with a range of other University offices, and members of the faculty to ensure the effective management of the sponsored programs process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
