Katie joined the Community Development and Planning program in Clark University’s International Development, Community, and Environment Department knowing that she wanted to go into the field of urban planning, but she was originally unsure of what that really meant or where such a degree could take her.

“I quickly got a much-needed perspective as the program allowed me to learn on both the local level in Worcester and on the global level through cross-over courses in International Development,” she says. Kate is the Community Development Block Grant Coordinator in Town of Southbridge, Massachusetts.

“I was pleased to gain skills in unexpected areas like community development finance, which helped me land my current position as a Community Development Block Grant Coordinator for the Town of Southbridge, Massachusetts.”

“I know my education at Clark has prepared me to take on any number of urban planning roles in the future, whether they are based locally or internationally.”
