To the Clark University Community,

I want to provide a brief update on the search for Clark’s tenth President.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the Presidential Search Committee, I would like to thank all of you who have participated in the process thus far.  The thoughtful and extensive input that we have received has been both gratifying and impressive, not to mention invaluable in helping us to reach this point.

The Presidential Search Committee has now been formalized and has been hard at work. As was previously indicated, we have engaged Storbeck/Pimentel and Associates, the pre-eminent search firm in higher education, to assist us in our search. Shelly Storbeck will be leading the team at Storbeck/Pimentel on our behalf. Board leadership, along with Storbeck/Pimentel, has held a series of forums, both on and off campus, with faculty, staff, students, alumni and other constituent groups, in order to solicit ideas regarding our next President and the search. Based in large part on the input we have received, the Presidential Search Committee has prepared a detailed specification for the position that will be shared with potential candidates. Storbeck/Pimentel and the Presidential Search Committee will be spending the next several months creating a pool of candidates. Although we are only at the beginning stages of this solicitation, we are extremely enthused by the responses we have received to date.

Information regarding the search, including a copy of the specification, information regarding the Presidential Search Committee, and other information and materials relevant to the search, can be found on the Presidential Search webpage. As the search process continues, we encourage you to continue to provide comments and input to the Presidential Search Committee at

In addition, the Committee welcomes nominations for the position. If you would like to suggest a candidate, you can do so by sending an email with any supporting materials to the following confidential address:

Thank you all again.
