Sackler Sciences Center, along with the math and computer science departments. Our well-equipped teaching laboratories are dedicated to computer simulations, electronics, optics, atomic and nuclear physics, and materials science. Our condensed matter physics research laboratories are equipped with the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A variable-temperature scanning tunneling microscope (STM)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A room temperature STM\/atomic force microscope (AFM)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An x-ray computed tomography (CT) system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two scanning electron microscopes (SEMs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A SQUID magnetometer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A low-temperature pulsed magnetic field system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the research labs also have powerful computers used to control experiments and collect and analyze data. The RISC workstations provide links to supercomputers at other institutions.
