Clark University turns to a graduate as its next president
Clark University has named David B. Fithian, a graduate of the Worcester school, as its next president.
The university announced Fithian’s appointment Monday in a community-wide e-mail. Fithian replaces David P. Angel, who is retiring at the end of June after 32 years at Clark, including the past decade as its president.

Clark University on Monday announced David B. Fithian, a 1987 graduate of the school, would be its next president.
Currently executive vice president at the University of Chicago, Fithian will assume the post on July 1, when Clark’s current president, David Angel, steps down. He will be the first alumnus of the university to also serve as its president.

Fithian, a 1987 graduate of Clark, is currently the executive vice president at the University of Chicago. He will take over as Clark president on July 1, replacing David P. Angel, who will retire in June after serving 10 years in the role.
