Annual Millennium Leadership
Clark University will host the 14th annual Millennium Leadership Conference:
Unapologetically Living Our Stories: What does it mean to live purposely?
Since its inception in 2002, the Millennium Leadership Conference has provided a space for socially conscious leaders within the Worcester community to combat and challenge social justice issues. This year we hope to encourage students to disrupt the social restrictions and norms forced upon us by claiming agency of our personal stories. Unapologetically, rebuilding a more critical and truer perspective of the human experience.
The program will include:
Banquet and Keynote Address – 5:15 p.m. – Tilton Hall, Higgins University Center
An award-winning youth group, N-CITE, will be screening a film, “Black Beauty,” that takes aim at the complex issue of colorist both in the media and also within communities of color itself. The group has been praised by the Massachusetts Cultural Council for exhibiting such excellence in community arts and culture.
Open Mic Show: Unapologetic – 8:00 p.m. – Atwood Hall (free and open to the public)
Take a stand with Millennium Leadership Conference this year, and refuse to be silent. Step to the mic, use your narrative to inspire and empower others. We are inviting ALL students to contribute through musical performance, spoken word, monologues, or dance.
Afterhours Dance – 10:30 p.m. – The Grind UC (open to the public, entry fee)
Come celebrate MLC with DJ Euro! (Bachata, Salsa, Kizomba, Dance Hall, Hip-Hop/R & B)
