The safety escort service is one of the best transportation methods to get to places around campus. This service is run completely by students and works closely with University Police to ensure a safe ride for all. The service runs from 4pm-4am, 7 days/week during the academic year. Call the dispatcher at 1-508-793-7777 or using the extension x7777 from an on-campus phone. Request an escort by providing the pick-up and drop-off locations of your ride. The dispatcher will provide you with an estimated time of arrival (ETA) for your call. Make sure to be outside or in place where you can see the van when you ETA is up. It is possible for you to keep track of where you van is using the campus van tracker.

The Escort vans can take you anywhere within a quarter mile radius of campus. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • On and off campus residences
  • Restaurants such as De Lat, Peppercorn’s, McDonalds, Red Pepper, Uncle Sam’s Pizza, Bahn Thai, Ho Toy, Applebee’s, Chickpea, and many more!
  • Coffee Shops: Dunkin Donuts, Acoustic Java, Dippin Donuts, and Boston Donuts
  • Pharmacies and Grocery Stores: Price Chopper, Big Y, Living Earth, CVS, Walgreens, Honey Farms, and many more!

Please refer to the map of Escort’s range if you are unsure if the service will take you to your desired location.

Uber is one of the cheapest transportation services in the world. It is readily available in many countries around the world. The app can be downloaded from the Apple store or Google store, and is very user friendly. It is important to always double check that the Uber you are about to get into has the same license plate and car type that is indicated on your app in order to ensure your safety.

Zipcar is one of the world’s leaders in car sharing. It allows students to rent cars by the hour or day and provide gas, as well as insurance. As long as you have a driving license, you can use Zipcar services. Students and staff aged 18 and over can apply online to join the service and utilize the user friendly app to reserve the vehicle. Clark University currently has four Zipcars on premises located in the Downing and Maywood parking lots.

The Worcester Regional Transit Authority (WRTA) provides bus service for Worcester and the surrounding area. It is a great way to get around the city and the surrounding neighborhood. You can purchase a One Day Pass, Month Pass or even a College Semester UPASS (must show College ID) and check schedules, routes and bus tracking information.

NOTE: Text bus number to receive its estimated time of arrival (ETA).

The local taxi services here are a popular and easy to use alternative to Uber. Just call ahead to book a cab and inform them of your desired pick up location. Drivers are often quite friendly and are happy to share information about the city and its hot spots.

To/From Airport

One of the most convenient ways to get to and from the airport would be to use Knight’s Airport Limo. These vans can be booked online or by phone and will pick you up/drop you off at your desired location.
