About the List

The Gender-Neutral Bathroom list was originally spearheaded by Oliver McCormick ’24 and a continuation of work by previous student organizations. Since the transition of our office to include LGBTQIA+ services, ISEA will now be overseeing this project and list.

Please note that this list is a work in progress – a new inventory was done in Summer/Fall 2022 and we will be updating this list (Spring 2023) below to include both Gender-Neutral and Single Stall lockable bathrooms. We will also be designating accessible bathrooms in this list as well. Please reach out to us at ISEA@clarku.edu if you have questions, to see the full list, or notice any inaccuracies.

Gender-Neutral Bathrooms in Residence Halls

  • All bathrooms in Hughes Hall, Dana Hall, and Johnson-Sanford Hall are gender-neutral.
  • Dodd Hall’s bathrooms change their signage depending on voting by residents.
  • Bullock and Wright Hall has a single gender-neutral bathroom in the lobby. All bathrooms in Maywood Hall and Blackstone Hall are private.

Gender-Neutral and Single Stall Bathrooms

Visit Clark’s interactive campus map to find any of the buildings listed below.  This list is comprised of either bathrooms that have been designated gender neutral and are signed OR single stall (lockable) bathrooms that can be used by anyone. Accessible bathrooms have also been indicated in this list.

Jefferson Hall Gender Neutral First Yes No (Left Side) When entering through the main door, go down the steps, and across from the soda machine there is a small hallway that leads to the Men’s bathroom and the Gender Neutral Bathroom. The Gender Neutral Bathroom will be on your right before the men’s bathroom.
Jefferson Hall Gender Neutral First Yes No (Right Side) When entering through the main door, go down the steps, and on the same side as the vending machine there is a small hallway that leads to the Women’s bathroom and the Gender Neutral Bathroom. The Gender Neutral Bathroom will be on your left before the women’s bathroom.

If using stairs, at the top of the stairs’ landing, turn right and follow the rightward walkway past room 237 and take another right, the bathrooms will be down the hall on the right.

If using the elevator, turn right out of the elevator and walk forward down the hall, the bathrooms will be on your right.
Lasry Center for Bioscience Gender Neutral (Temporary Signage) Second No Yes When entering from the main entrance, either use the elevator in the hall to the right or the stairs to go up to the second floor.
