Who We Are
Meet Cherilyn Bonin, our student success specialist. She works on strategic problem-solving and skill-building with students who are on academic probation, who have been identified as at-risk by a professor or campus community member, or who are simply seeking support as they strive toward their academic goals. She can provide guidance in time management, study strategies, note-taking, reading comprehension, test-taking, overcoming barriers to success, and more.
Originally from Tolland, Connecticut, Cherilyn completed her bachelor’s in English at Central Connecticut State University. She worked as a residence director at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts before returning to CCSU to pursue graduate school, where she earned a master’s in counseling and completed a concentration in student development in higher education. While in graduate school, she worked as the lead academic success coach in CCSU’s Learning Center for two years.
In her free time, she enjoys reading and yoga.
