Photo by Ismael Dr La Cruz &#8217;27<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Brady Kershaw \u201927, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/programs\/major\/screen-studies-ba\/\">screen studies<\/a> major and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/visual-and-performing-arts\/academics\/theater-arts-ba\/\">theater arts<\/a> minor and member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/clarku.campuslabs.com\/engage\/organization\/peapodsquad\">Peapod Squad<\/a>, says it was exciting to learn from a professional actively working in the industry. The group practiced three-line scenes, a popular improv exercise in which players build a scene with just three lines of dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat was something we were already kind of familiar with from the improv team, but then working with other students who had fresh and new ideas was cool,\u201d he says. \u201cIt was awesome to get different perspectives and ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adams last visited campus in 2017 for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/news\/2017\/05\/19\/hollywood-actor-delivers-reel-advice-to-student-filmmakers\/\">similar workshop<\/a>. During her visit last month, she also held a screening and talkback of her new short film, \u201cIn the Middle of Something,\u201d which premiered at the LA Shorts International Film Festival. Adams co-created the film with Julian Velard, who also stars in it and wrote and edited it. There was this awesome transition from the parking lot to [Velard] back playing on the piano, where I was like, \u2018Oh, my gosh, I don&#8217;t even know how they did this because it&#8217;s so seamless,\u2019\u201d he recalls. \u201cThat&#8217;s one shot that she told us about. It took me seven years to get a commercial agent, and then 10 years to get on a television show. You\u2019ve just got to keep your head down and know that it&#8217;s not an \u2018if,\u2019 it&#8217;s a \u2018when,\u2019 and the \u2018when\u2019 may not be when you think it is, but that&#8217;s
