Squash players get it. You\u2019ve either never heard of their sport, or you mistake it for racquetball, or you don\u2019t understand why it shares its name with a fruit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s okay. But just know that the players are as passionate about squash as any other athlete is about their game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Hazel Crossman \u201927, an e-board member with Clark Club Squash, the club thrived at the University during the 1980s under sociology professor and coach Stan Gerber. The numbers dwindled over time, and the club eventually disbanded until being revived in 2018 by Ravi Rao \u201921, MAT \u201922.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every week, from 8 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, students of all athletic abilities gather to play on the courts in the Kneller Athletic Center basement. In February, a Clark team competed in Philadelphia at the College Squash Associate (CSA) Club Squash Nationals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last weekend, Ved Rao \u201927 was the winner of Clark\u2019s in-house tournament, with Adrian Ramirez \u201925 taking second and Connor Jewson \u201925 earning third place. Check out the photos on the club\u2019s Instagram, @clark_squash<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
