A delegation of 20 members of Clark University<\/a>‘s Model U.N. Team<\/a> recently participated in the 62nd<\/sup> session of the Harvard National Model United Nations Conference (HNMUN 2016<\/a>); several returned with awards for their performance in highly competitive committees.<\/p>\n

Doga Bilgin ’16 and Pingzhen Hu ’16 were awarded Outstanding Delegate in the Science and Technology Committee; Justin Lewis ’16 was awarded Outstanding Delegate in the World Health Organization Committee; Absar Syed Ali ’17 and Dea Dodi ’17 received Honorable Mentions in the Disarmament and International Security Committee, and Lance Yau ’16 and Brendan Burgess ’18 received Honorable Mentions in the Historical General Assembly 1979.<\/p>\n

“Our team put in an exceptional effort this year,” said Srini Sitaraman<\/a>, associate professor of political science<\/a>, who serves as Model U.N. faculty adviser. “The drive, commitment and ability to sustain the intensity for four consecutive days was truly amazing.”<\/p>\n

Each year the HNMUN conference attracts more than 3,000 student delegates from all over the world, representing 70 countries of the 193 UN member states.<\/p>\n

Clark University will host the Middle School Model UN Conference<\/a> on Saturday, April 2, in partnership with the UN-Association of Greater Boston<\/a>.<\/p>\n
