Times Higher Education (THE) has named Clark University number 12 on its list of the World’s Best Small Universities. The ranking, released March 7, includes 20 universities in 12 different countries. Clark is one of four small U.S. schools included.\n<\/p>\n

To be eligible for the rankings, universities must appear in THE’s World University Rankings 2016-17<\/a>, teach more than four subjects, and have fewer than 5,000 students. The average number of students at the schools on the Best Small Universities<\/a> list is 3,038; Clark’s enrollment for 2016-2017 is 3,224. By contrast, the average number of students at the colleges and universities on the world rankings list is 24,953.<\/p>\n

“Small universities provide high student satisfaction and good working relationships between students and their professors. Many students are drawn to smaller class sizes, higher teacher-to-student ratios and the community-like feel that a small university can provide,” says Seeta Bhardwa, student editor for Times Higher Education.<\/body><\/html><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
