And that&rsquo;s while carrying a full course load, engaging in research, or working in an internship.<\/p>\n<p>Maggie Paul &rsquo;20 (lacrosse), Bobby Sharma &rsquo;20 (cross country), and Quincy Milton III &rsquo;20 (lacrosse) share these tips on how student-athletes can manage the competing demands for their time while maintaining a healthy academic\/athletic life balance.\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Keep a planner<\/strong>. It&rsquo;s helpful to write down everything &mdash; practice times, work times, meetings, homework assignments &mdash; even if your schedule is essentially the same every week.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Find time to relax<\/strong>. Everyone needs to decompress. Watching some Netflix with friends is a good thing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Know what you have coming up<\/strong> and organize your week around your most important responsibilities. This will minimize your stress level.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eat healthily<\/strong>, but treat yourself to take-out once in a while. There are lots of options around Clark, from pizza to Pad Thai.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Set a reasonable bedtime<\/strong> every night to maximize your hours of sleep and boost your productivity. Turning off your screens will help quiet your brain.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Complete coursework<\/strong> between weekday classes to relieve the pressure of cramming on the weekends.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Build strong relationships<\/strong> with your coaches and professors. They are eager and able to help you succeed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Set goals<\/strong>. These can be athletic and academic. Goal-setting keeps you competitive with yourself so you are always aiming to achieve.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><\/body><\/html><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Get your rest, stay
