Clark University has appointed Alan B. Eisner, Ph.D., as dean of the School of Management<\/a>. Eisner will begin his role on Monday, September 14.<\/p>\n

Eisner most recently served as the associate dean for Graduate Programs at the Lubin School of Business at Pace University<\/a>, where he has served on the faculty since 1997.<\/p>\n

“Alan Eisner is a champion of graduate management education and has impressive program development experience that comprises innovative online and interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning,” said Clark President David Fithian. “We believe the School of Management will benefit greatly from his extensive professional network, his ability to form partnerships, and his bold and creative ideas.”<\/p>\n

Eisner received his Ph.D. from the Stern School of Business at New York University<\/a>. He has a B.S. in operations research and industrial engineering and a M.Eng. in engineering management, both from Cornell University<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Eisner has published more than 30 articles in leading journals including the International Journal of Electronic Commerce<\/em>, Advances in Strategic Management<\/em>, International Journal of Technology Management<\/em>, American Business Review<\/em>, Journal of Behavioral and Applied Management<\/em>, The Case Journal<\/em>, and the Journal of the International Academy for Case Studies.<\/em> The 10th edition of “Strategic Management<\/a>,” a textbook he co-authored with Gregory Dess, Gerry McNamara, and Seung-Hyun Lee, was published by McGraw-Hill in January. His teaching interests include strategy, entrepreneurship, and organization theory.<\/p>\n

Eisner has taken an active leadership role with the Management Education and Development (MED) Division of the Academy of Management<\/a>; he presently serves as program chair for the MED. He has also served as associate editor of the Case Association’s peer-reviewed journal, The CASE Journal<\/em><\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Eisner succeeds Priscilla Elsass, who served as dean of SOM since January 2019. His hire follows a comprehensive search aided by Russell Reynolds Associates of New York.<\/body><\/html><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
