Faculty provide context in series of talks, discussions<\/p>\n

With less than a week to go until Election Day, Clark University is providing resources to help all members of its community participate in the democratic process.<\/p>\n

Clark Votes<\/a> is a one-stop resource where eligible voters can learn about voting options (in-person, early, or by mail\/absentee), find voting locations, check what’s on the ballot, and access links to other election information.<\/p>\n

To offer additional context, faculty members have planned a series of events that will examine the 2020 presidential election from numerous perspectives, both pre- and post-election.<\/p>\n

In the run-up to the election, Clark’s faculty will assess the election through a variety of lenses: What does the 2020 presidential campaign mean for the future of America’s two main political parties? What is the role of climate change in today’s political landscape, and how will the election impact global efforts to mitigate the effects of a warming planet? Where do issues involving gender fit into it all? The events, which are all virtual, are listed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Higgins School of Humanities<\/a> will host a special post-election event<\/a> on Nov. 4. Faculty experts from across academic disciplines will discuss the results — as we know them at that time — and what they mean moving forward.<\/p>\n

Dean of Students Francy Magee is urging students who are participating in demonstrations, whether on campus or off, to wear their masks and practice social distancing as part of ongoing efforts to protect the health and safety of the Clark community. This year, a volunteer group of faculty and staff, identifiable by their red Clark scarves, will be available to assist and escort students if needed.<\/p>\n

Clark has professional services available for those who may be struggling during this election season.
