Gary D. Labovich ’81 has been elected to serve as the next Chair of the Clark University Board of Trustees<\/a>, beginning July 1.<\/p>\n Gary Labovich ’81\n

“Gary is deeply committed to Clark and our students, and brings to his chairmanship great energy, enthusiasm, and ambition for Clark’s future,” said outgoing Chair Ross Gillman ’81. “Since joining the Board in 2016, Gary has not only been a key contributor but has been instrumental in advancing multiple significant and important initiatives for Clark throughout his tenure. Most recently, as chair of the Board’s Facilities, Grounds, and Capital Projects Committee, Gary has led the Campus Design Initiative, as well as our efforts to make a reality the recently announced Center for Media Arts, Computing, and Design<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

Labovich recently retired as executive vice president and senior partner at Booz Allen Hamilton<\/a>, a leading global management consulting and technology firm. While at Booz Allen, he was one of the earliest participants in the ClarkCONNECT<\/a> initiative, which links alumni with students for mentorship and career exploration opportunities.<\/p>\n

“Gary brought Booz Allen to campus for student recruiting, resulting in innumerable student internships and jobs,” Gillman noted. “A significant number of Clark alumni today are building successful careers at Booz Allen thanks to Gary’s efforts.”<\/p>\n

Labovich joined Booz Allen in 2004 following 18 years at American Management Systems where he served as a consultant and senior executive, specializing in systems development and strategic consulting for both government and commercial organizations. At Booz Allen, Labovich worked with the federal government supporting mission-critical programs to enhance citizen services. He also served as a member of the firm’s Leadership Team.<\/p>\n

At Clark, Labovich majored in economics — but he also immersed himself in the study of literature, inspiring a lifelong appreciation for the impact of a liberal arts education in life and career.<\/p>\n

“Gary’s professional experience and expertise, his leadership, and his abiding love for our university will greatly benefit Clark as we enter an exciting period of growth and new possibilities,” Gillman said. “I and the rest of the members of the Board of Trustees are grateful for his contributions to date and look forward to working with him as he assumes his position as Chair.”<\/p>\n
