Welcome to the Clark Family

Your student isn’t the only one who has joined the Clark community. This is a special time for your entire family, and we want you to stay involved and informed during their time with us. We hope you will be able to learn more about Clark University, visit campus when you can, and discover the difference a Clark education can make.

At Clark, our students:

Like you, we see higher education as an investment — you invest in us, and we invest in you. Clark University graduates work for great organizations and attend some of the best graduate schools in the world. We’re incredibly proud that we’re preparing them for long, productive careers and lives of real consequence. Learn more about the return on a Clark education.

Supporting Your Clarkie

Congratulations! Sending a student off to college is a major milestone, often accompanied by a variety of feelings — including pride, excitement, anxiety, and trepidation. Letting go is rarely easy, and it can be hard to adjust to having a student away from home. It is important to remember, however, most students do make the adjustment to college life — and to life at Clark, in particular — quite successfully, and one of the major aims of the college experience is for young people to develop the capacities of self-responsibility and independent action.

Over the next four years, your student will grow and learn in exciting ways. The best way you can help your student adjust to college life is to offer your love, support, understanding, and encouragement. Stay engaged by asking questions and encouraging your student to solve problems, research possibilities, and take advantage of the many academic, cocurricular, and support services Clark offers. It is also important to remind your student to get enough sleep, physical exercise, and nourishment to be able to do their best work and stay healthy.

Welcome for New Parents and Families

We are excited to greet you in January and partner with you to support this new chapter in your student’s – and your lives!
