In 2019, the Henry J. and Erna D. Leir English Essay Award presented at the Lycee de Garcons Esch-sur-Alzette was awarded to Ms. Kai Xin Lau.
Ms. Kai Xin Lau, pictured below, was presented the award following the Lycee’s graduation ceremony in June last year. Lau’s award winning essay examined international cooperation between the United States and Europe. Lau discussed the importance of multiculturalism to both of their histories, and challenged discourse by current world leaders who would threaten to devalue its importance.
