Who are Third Culture Kids (TCKs) or Global Nomads?

The term “Third Culture” refers to the combination of the expatriate culture in which the student often lives, the culture of their passport country, and the culture of their host country.

Clark University is home to a vibrant community of Third Culture Kids, who are also sometimes called Global Nomads!

The International Center offers support services for Clark’s TCK community. Our TCK Student Coordinator, Chikondi Thangata is currently a graduate student studying environmental science and policy. She is originally from England and Malawi. However, she grew up in the United States, England, Botswana, Ethiopia, Mozambique, and Kenya.

Please feel free to contact Chikondi at Cthangata@clarku.edu if you are interested in learning more about the TCK community at Clark and in Worcester, or just to chat! And be sure to look out for upcoming information on TCK events and programming on our social media and our website.
