Some examples include:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a secondary, non-Clark email<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>security questions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a phone number<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once two separate methods are verified, you will be registered for SSPR.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In the future, if you want to add, edit, or remove a verification method, visit your <a href=\"https:\/\/mysignins.microsoft.com\/security-info\">Security Information<\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to reset your password with SSPR<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on the \u201cReset your Password\u201d button to the right, <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/sspr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">click here<\/a>, or click on the Forgot My Password link on the Clark login page. Follow the prompts to verify your information and choose a new password. Easy, quick, and secure!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do I have to use SSPR?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have not registered for SSPR and you forget your password, you will need to contact the Help Desk (<a href=\"mailto:helpdesk@clarku.edu\">helpdesk@clarku.edu<\/a>, 508-793-7745) for a manual password reset. Manual password resets will require additional security checks, and you may experience delays getting back into your account, so we recommend that all Clarkies register for SSPR as soon as it is convenient.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Choosing strong passwords<\/summary>\n<p>A strong password consists of a combination of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters (except for the apostrophe \u2018). It should be greater than 14 characters and easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess. Avoid using easy-to-guess information such as dictionary words, names, or common keyboard patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having a strong password will help protect your account from people who might try and gain access by guessing at passwords people usually chose from (pet names, home towns, family members, etc).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clark\u2019s password requirements are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Minimum password length of 15 characters <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cannot be one of your previous five passwords <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cannot contain three or more successive characters from your username, display name, first name, or last name <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cannot contain spaces or non-English characters <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Will expire 365 days after it was set <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must contain&nbsp;3&nbsp;of the following categories of special characters except for the apostrophe \u2018\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Uppercase English letter (A to Z)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lowercase English letter (a to z)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Number 0 to 9<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-alphanumeric (!, #, $, &amp; , =, etc\u2026)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Tips when changing your password<\/summary>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Whenever possible, change your password on campus, with a wired connection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have to change your password from off-campus, connect to the VPN first.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/information-technology-services\/virtual-private-network-vpn\/\">Click here for information on connecting to the VPN.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Think about the services you access at Clark and the devices you access them from before you change your password.\u00a0\u00a0Your password will probably need to be updated on each of those devices. For example, most users check their email on Clark computers, personal laptops, in multiple browsers, and on phones.\u00a0 When you change your password, you need to update all of the email programs on each device.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you get locked out of your account, don\u2019t despair.&nbsp;&nbsp;Accounts automatically unlock after two hours (assuming wrong passwords haven\u2019t been tried again) or if we are available at the Help Desk (<a href=\"mailto:helpdesk@clarku.edu\">helpdesk@clarku.edu<\/a>, 508-793-7745), we can unlock them right away for you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Keep your account secure.Never share your password.
