During this time, your account will operate as usual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Approximately 9 months after graduation, you will receive a notification from the Help Desk to let you know that you have 30 days until your Clark account will expire. Once your account expires, you will lose access to all Clark resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This includes (but is not limited to):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clark email account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to you.clarku.edu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Microsoft services (OneDrive, Office 365 installations, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Licenses and access to specialty software (ArcGIS, STATA, NVIVO)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Library access<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Prepare<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking some time now to prepare will help ensure that your account expiry does not impact your access to important files and accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Reduce your use of Clark email<\/summary>\n<p>You are responsible for redirecting any important email communication that you receive. After your account expires, mail sent to your Clark account will not be delivered. Forwarding your Clark email to an alternative account will not work once your account is expired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide individuals and companies that contact you at your Clark email address with an alternative account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consider putting an automatic reply on your Clark email now to help route your communication to your alternative account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We don\u2019t recommend using your Clark email address for job applications, graduate school admissions, tax software logins, or other important correspondence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t forget to update any accounts or apps that use your Clark email address as a login.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Backup any data stored on Clark Resources<\/summary>\n<p>You are responsible for backing up any data associated with your Clark Account. Common data that students wish to backup include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Files stored on Clark servers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your email mailbox (see below for more information).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Files stored on OneDrive (see below for more information).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Set up an out of office message<\/summary>\n<p>This message should alert the recipient you are no longer at Clark and provide an alternative means of communication, such as your personal email address. Please note that to open these files, you will need access to the Outlook app on a personal device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/back-up-your-email-e5845b0b-1aeb-424f-924c-aa1c33b18833\"><strong>Export Outlook on Windows<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.clarku.edu\/its-files-public\/download\/outlook-for-mac-export\/\"><strong>Export Outlook on Mac<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have the exported Outlook file, move it to another location, such as a personal Google Drive, a personal iCloud account, a personal OneDrive account, or an external hard drive.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Check files stored in your OneDrive account<\/summary>\n<p>Transfer any files you\u2019d like to keep to another location, such as a personal Google Drive, a personal iCloud account, a personal OneDrive account, or an external hard drive.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Faculty and Staff<\/summary>\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Check files stored on your device and in your OneDrive account<\/summary>\n<p>Identify documents you\u2019d like to keep, documents that are pertinent to ongoing university business, and documents that do not need any actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Files stored on your device can be found in Pictures, Documents, Downloads, Desktop, etc. There is no need to check file shares.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/information-technology-services\/microsoft-onedrive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">OneDrive<\/a> storage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For files you\u2019d like to keep:<\/strong>&nbsp;Relocate these files and folders to another location, such as a personal Google Drive, a personal iCloud account, a personal OneDrive account, or a personal hard drive.<br><em><br><\/em><strong>For files pertaining to university business:<\/strong><em><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em>Identify the correct person or party who will need the file(s) after your departure and upload them to a shared Team, SharePoint or fileshare, depending on your department\u2019s workflow.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Identify and update accounts associated with your Clark email<\/summary>\n<p>If you receive personal emails from your social media accounts, banking institutions, or stores you frequent, please contact these places to update your contact information to a personal email address so your access to these accounts is not affected by your departure.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Set up an out of office message on your last day at Clark<\/summary>\n<p>This message should alert the recipient you are no longer at Clark and provide an alternative means of communication, such as your personal email address.
