The inscription \u201cLord deliver us!\u201d was added to the monument in 1924 in reference to the German territory lost or occupied following World War I.\u00a0 A Putsch march to the Beer Hall was planned by the Nazi party on November 9, 1923. The Putsch collapsed in front of the monument under fire from the Bavarian State Police. The Mahnmal, on the eastern side of the hall, bore the names of the 16 National Socialists who fell in the Putsch. In 1935,\u00a0 a memorial dedicated to the 16 National Socialist was built at the K\u00f6niglicher platz in M\u00fcnchen.\u00a0 There, they would be put to their final rest.\u00a0 An eternal flame was lit and SS men were assigned to\u00a0 permanently act as a guard of honor.\u00a0 Every year on November 9<sup>th<\/sup>, Hitler lead a memorial march from B\u00fcrgerbr\u00e4ukeller to the Feldhernhalle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Accession Number: 2022.02.3.2.1 Historical background: The Feldhernhalle, containing the statues of Bavarian generals, was built in M\u00fcnchen\u2019s Odeonsplatz between 1841 and 1844.
