See below for full details.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-graduate-scholarship-application-requirements\">Graduate Scholarship Application Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>How to Apply and Required Materials<\/summary>\n<p>Clark University awards <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/graduate-education\/admissions\/tuition-and-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">merit-based tuition scholarships<\/a> for full-time master\u2019s level students who demonstrate academic potential, professional focus, and a commitment to Clark community values.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates who choose to apply for a Clark Graduate Scholarship must\u00a0submit\u00a0materials required\u00a0by\u00a0the level of scholarship.\u00a0Students will be prompted to submit these as part of their application for admission.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholarship candidates are encouraged to apply early, during\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/graduate-education\/admissions\/application-deadlines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">priority application periods<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deans and faculty members individually select recipients based on scholarship criteria and the strength of their application.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholarship awards are considered final at time of admission. No review process is available, and awards cannot be adjusted after admission.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The following materials are required to be considered for a Graduate Scholarship:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fiat Lux Scholarship (75%)<\/strong> &#8211; Applicants must provide a written essay\u00a0(see\u00a0below),\u00a0AND\u00a0an\u00a0additional\u202fvideo essay\u202f(1 to 3 minutes).\u00a0The video must feature the student responding in person to the following prompt: \u201cMaster\u2019s\u00a0programs at Clark range from 10 to 16 classes in length. What class in your future master\u2019s program are you most excited to take, and why?\u201d\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dean\u2019s Scholarship (50%)<\/strong>\u00a0 &#8211; Applicants must provide a written essay\u202f(500 to 1,000 words)\u00a0detailing their commitment to Clark\u2019s mission, and to their chosen field of study.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>School Awarded Scholarship (30%)<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 No&nbsp;additional&nbsp;materials&nbsp;required&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Merit Scholarships (15%)<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 No&nbsp;additional&nbsp;materials&nbsp;required&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>What makes a strong scholarship application?<\/summary>\n<p>Students who are seeking a high merit scholarship must submit a strong application that aligns with award criteria. Portfolio pieces may represent classroom assignments as well as independent projects. The portfolio should be purposeful, demonstrate originality of concept, visual literacy, and an understanding of current industry standard software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MFA in Visual Arts<\/strong> must submit a&nbsp;portfolio&nbsp;that includes 15-20 examples of your work. This fee is not refundable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We grant waivers for the following populations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants from organizations partnered with Clark (e.g., AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, City Year, Fulbright, Teach for America, McNair Scholars, National Association of Black Accountants, among others)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clark alumni<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Current Clark employees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>English language waiver policy<\/summary>\n<p>Students who are citizens of the following countries, or who have completed an accredited degree program at a university in one of these countries\u2014with a minimum of two years of in-person study\u2014are exempt from the English language proficiency requirements:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada (except Quebec), Cayman Islands, Dominica, Falkland Islands, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, Gibraltar, Grenada, Guam, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Liberia, Lesotho, Malta, Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Montserrat, Namibia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Rwanda, Scotland, Sierra Leone, Seychelles, Solomon Islands, St. Helen, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands, Uganda, United Kingdom, The United States of America, Virgin Islands, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Non-refundable enrollment deposit policy<\/summary>\n<p>The enrollment deposit is nonrefundable in all circumstances, even in the case of a visa denial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Deferred admission policy<\/summary>\n<p>Admitted students may defer admission for up to one full year from their term of admission (i.e. Fall 2023 admitted students can defer to Spring or Fall 2024). Only students that have accepted an offer of admission are eligible to defer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All deferral requests must be submitted <strong>before<\/strong> the first full day of classes and 1st module of your enrolled semester, as per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/offices\/registrar\/academic-calendars\/\">the academic calendar<\/a>. After that date, applicants will need to re-apply to their program of interest if interested in attending Clark in a future term.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Graduate Scholarship application policy<\/summary>\n<p>Candidates who choose to apply for a Clark Graduate Scholarship must submit a written personal essay and a video essay as part of their application for admission. Application materials submitted are considered final.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholarship awards are considered final at time of admission.
