Professor Munro received a B.A. from Columbia College in 1973 and an M.A.H. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1977. He has been at Clark since 1979. Professor Munro was an original member of the Chicago Project and performed at the New York Shakespeare Festival, the Open Space in London and the Loeb Drama Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was a Directing Fellow at the Center For Theatre Research at SUNY at Buffalo.<\/p>\n

Hopkins rewriting, updating, and adapting this play from a 2008 live theatre experience to a live Zoom performance for 2021 and beyond. This has been completed, and we are working with a new script. Subsequently, there was the casting of professional performers Wyndham Maxwell and Eliza Ryan and the start of the rehearsal process. The rehearsal process includes collaborative meetings with C. J. Hopkins, Stephen Dirado, Matt Malsky and ongoing rehearsals with the actors. Besides the talents of Hopkins, Malsky, and DiRado, and the performers, we will depend on the technical acumen of David Krooshof of The Amsterdam Academy of the Arts. David is currently working on an art project utilizing innovative approaches to the Zoom medium. This 'is it real or is it Memorex' conundrum has only increased in our time from the advances in Virtual Reality, the corporate interest in transhumanism, to the number of deaths of people engaging in Augmented Reality.<\\\/span><\\\/p>\\n <\\\/p>\\n The voice-over at the top of the piece reveals the confusion of the audience\\\/viewer as they are unsure if the play has begun or if this even is the play.<\\\/span><\\\/p>\\n A bell is rung.\\u00a0<\\\/span><\\\/p>\\n Signaling the bourgeoisie to take their seats.\\u00a0<\\\/span><\\\/p>\\n Their numbered seats.\\u00a0<\\\/span><\\\/p>\\n Numbered left to right in lettered rows.\\u00a0<\\\/span><\\\/p>\\n They do so.\\u00a0<\\\/span><\\\/p>\\n Gradually.\\u00a0<\\\/span><\\\/p>\\n There is some slight confusion.\\u00a0<\\\/span><\\\/p>\\n A voice is speaking to them.\\u00a0<\\\/span><\\\/p>\\n An unfamiliar voice.\\u00a0<\\\/span><\\\/p>\\n Speaking directly to them.\\u00a0<\\\/span><\\\/p>\\n Nor have the lights been lowered.\\u00a0<\\\/span><\\\/p>\\n A voice is speaking to them and the lights have not been lowered.
