James DeFilippis<\/a> is professor of urban planning in the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers\u2013New Brunswick.<\/p>\n\n\n\nDeFilippis\u2019 research focuses on the politics and economics of cities and communities.\u00a0 He is particularly interested in the processes of social change, and questions of power and justice in cities. His work strives to makes connections; linking disciplines and connecting academic theory and grounded political practice. He has published work in academic journals in a variety of fields, both independently and in collaboration with other authors.\u00a0 He is the author or editor of six books and more than 40 articles and book chapters.\u00a0 Professor DeFilippis has also written applied monographs and reports, and his interests extend well beyond the academy and into the practice of concrete political work and policy analyses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
