SUMMARY:Vienna\, 1890 - 1938: Capital of Tradition\, Innovation\, Promise\, and Peril
DESCRIPTION:In the first decades of the twentieth-century Vienna was a locus for cultural and intellectual innovation\, as well as for radical politics of left and right. This symposium brings together a group of leading interdisciplinary scholars to explore the interactions of art\, music\, and cultural politics in the decades preceding the rise of National Socialism and the Anschluss of Austria in March 1938.
