Clark Esports and Highlights – 10/10

Welcome back to another Clark Esports weekly recap!

While some teams are through three weeks of NECC action, others are preparing to tackle a completely new game!

Clark’s Overwatch 2 tryouts were this past Thursday, with our Red, Grey, Obsidian, and Chromatic teams being announced. Each roster is set to start competition on Thursday!

Last Saturday, the Clark Smash Coalition held another Bi-weekly tournament. Congratulations to Antimony on the victory and all 12 of our contestants competing over Fall Break!

Let’s see how all the rest of our teams did!

League of Legends

Red (1-2): League of Legends Red picked up their first win of the season last week against Alvernia! Solid team play all around led to a clean 2-0 sweep, bringing their overall record to a manageable 1-2. Next week they look to get back to .500 against Limestone Esports.

Grey (2-1): Likewise, Grey defeated their week three matchup, uOttawa Red, quite handedly. Next week they’ll face off against RMU Blue.

Chromatic (3-0): The Chromatic hype train keeps on rolling, as they continue their fantastic start to the season with a win against Marywood! Their next game is against King’s College.

Obsidian (2-1): Obsidian suffered their first official defeat last week, losing the pivotal game three against SUNY Potsdam. Next, they play another State University of New York in Oneonta, where the team looks to cement their spot in the Navigators Northeast division.

Pearl (0-3): League of Legends Pearl fell at the hands of JWU Yellow for their third straight defeat. They’ll face SUNY Potsdam on Wednesday – maybe Obsidian will help them out with some scouting.

Rocket League

Red (1-1): Rocket League Red’s match against UMass Black is rescheduled for Wednesday at 7 PM.

Grey (1-2): Rocket League Grey continues to improve their overall synergy and skill sets, yet fell to Eastern Eagles Maroon by a final map score of 3-1. They are still in a prime position to make the playoffs, as they play a rivalry game this Friday against WPI White.

Valorant

Red (1-2): Our premier Valorant squad picked up their first victory via forfeit against Bryant Gold.

Grey (2-0): Valorant Grey picked up their second victory of the season last week against NEC Blue in 2-0 fashion. They’ll look to continue their undefeated streak when they clash with Trent Blue.

Chromatic (3-0): Clark Chromatic teams sit at a combined 6-0, as Valorant Chromatic squeaked by Coe Gold two maps to one. They showed up where it mattered most, winning the third map 13-3. 4-0 is on the dockett against the BVU Beavers.

Rainbow Six

Red (2-1): Our esteemed Rainbow Six team got back on track last Tuesday, sweeping the Hasting Broncos to go 2-1 on the season. They’ll face Defiance College this week, looking to move up the standings in the Navigators division.

Apex Legends

Red: Our Apex Legends Red team has started competition! They placed top ten in a tournament despite needing a roster change and played in the first day of the Phase One Fall Series. Look to hear more from them soon!

Hearthstone: Hearthstone has also begun play this semester! Clark’s hearthstone roster begins play with two matches this week, one on Monday and another on Thursday. Support them and all the other esports teams by joining the Clark Esports Discord and following along!

That’s all for now, see you next week!
