Understanding the Latine Vote Through Useful Oversimplifications

presented by: Ángel Saavedra Cisneros

Latinos are the largest minority group in America. How do we make sense of the politics of such a diverse and changing demographic? Drawing from his nationally award-winning book, Latino Identity and Political Attitudes: Why Are Latinos Not Republican? Dr. Saavedra offers the explanation of identities. While some identities are non-political, others are shaped by and driven by politics, and can help to better predict how Latinos will behave politically.
