{"id":1581,"date":"2019-10-13T11:47:28","date_gmt":"2019-10-13T15:47:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/departments\/history-mockup\/?page_id=1581"},"modified":"2020-02-12T09:30:59","modified_gmt":"2020-02-12T14:30:59","slug":"resources","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/departments\/history\/research\/resources\/","title":{"rendered":"Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Historical Research on Campus and in Worcester<\/h2>\n<p>At Clark University, students in history have access to several library collections, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Goddard Library, including the Archives and Special Collections<\/li>\n<li>The Rose Library in Cohen-Lasry House, containing approximately 3,500 books and materials on the Holocaust, many dating from 1933 to 1947.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, Worcester has a wealth of resources for historical research, starting with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanantiquarian.org\">American Antiquarian Society<\/a>, a nationally renowned research center for research in early American history.<\/p>\n<p>An independent research library founded in 1812, the American Antiquarian Society collections document the lives of people from the colonial era through the Civil War and Reconstruction. Collections include books, pamphlets, newspapers, periodicals, broadsides, manuscripts, music, graphic arts, and local histories.<\/p>\n<p>Every year, Clark&#8217;s History Department offers a <a href=\"http:\/\/catalog.clarku.edu\/preview_program.php?catoid=25&amp;poid=4692&amp;hl=history\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">seminar course<\/a> at the society.<\/p>\n<p>Additional resources in Worcester include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.worcesterhistory.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Worcester Historical Museum<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.worcpublib.com\/?q=history-1\">Worcester Public Library&#8217;s Local History Collection<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Beyond Worcester, there are numerous resources in Massachusetts and nearby in Connecticut.
