Ali, Tim<\/h4>\n

\nBio<\/strong>: Tim Ali is a seventh-year PhD student in the Department of Economics at Clark University. His academic experience has focused on teaching and research, with a strong commitment to undergraduate education. He has served as an Adjunct Instructor of Economics at Clark University for three semesters, teaching Introductory Global Macroeconomics. In addition, he has served as a Teaching Assistant every semester for the past five years, supporting instruction in courses including Introductory Microeconomics, Introductory Macroeconomics, Development Economics, and Spatial Environmental Analysis. This extensive teaching experience has allowed him to develop a strong foundation as an economics instructor and a passion for making economics accessible and engaging for students.
Tim has also worked as a Research Assistant with several faculty members on a variety of research projects. His research interests include public policy, economic growth, and sports economics. His job market paper, *\u201cAre MLB Players Hyperbolic Discounters? An Empirical Study,\u201d* examines economic decision-making among Major League Baseball players and reflects his broader interest in applying economic theory and empirical methods to questions in sports economics.
Tim’s long-term goal is to pursue a career in academia, where he hopes to combine his interests in teaching and research. He aspires to teach economics at the college or university level while continuing to conduct research in public policy, economic growth, and sports economics.

His research interests include development economics, environmental and climate economics, health, labor, and education economics, with a focus on applied econometrics and quantitative methods. His research explores economic and social challenges in developing economies, particularly issues related to inequality, human capital, environmental sustainability, health, and labor market outcomes. He is particularly interested in using machine learning, AI, data science, and geospatial analysis to examine economic and policy challenges.

\nBio<\/strong>: Edward Nyarko is a Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at Clark University and a macro-financial economist with over a decade of experience in central banking, macroeconomic surveillance, and quantitative policy analysis. His research focuses on macroeconomic fluctuations in frontier market economies, productivity dynamics, international trade, financial frictions, digital finance, and monetary policy.
Prior to his doctoral studies, he served as an Economist at the Bank of Ghana and the West African Monetary Institute, and held research positions with the World Bank Group and the Harvard Growth Lab. He earned an MPA\/ID from Harvard University and degrees from the University of Ghana.
His dissertation examines the role of productivity shocks, external financial conditions, and trade liberalization in shaping macroeconomic outcomes in frontier economies. \nBio<\/strong>: Evelyn Nyarko is a PhD candidate in Economics at Clark University and Director of the Investor Services Division at the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre. With over 18 years of professional experience in foreign direct investment (FDI), international trade, and investment promotion, she has advised domestic and international investors on establishing and expanding operations in Ghana and has overseen major investment projects across sectors including manufacturing, energy, agriculture, tourism, real estate, and healthcare.
Her research interests include foreign direct investment, economic development, international trade, labor markets, and gender inequality. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, an MPhil in Economics, and a BA in Economics and Geography from University of Ghana.

My research examines how artificial intelligence, functioning as a general-purpose technology, translates into measurable shifts in productivity, investment, employment, and economic growth. My current projects focus on measuring AI innovation, analyzing changes in occupational exposure to new AI capabilities, and estimating the transmission of technology shocks through the broader economy. Empirically, I combine structural time-series and panel data methods to capture these effects across different stages of technological diffusion.
