{"id":86,"date":"2019-04-03T08:19:13","date_gmt":"2019-04-03T12:19:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/departments\/template-example\/?page_id=86"},"modified":"2023-11-30T10:24:07","modified_gmt":"2023-11-30T15:24:07","slug":"doctoral-research","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/departments\/economics\/research\/doctoral-research\/","title":{"rendered":"Doctoral Research"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Research With a Global Outlook<\/h2>\n<p>Our program encourages students to pursue research that analyzes and addresses economic questions that have implications for our understanding of both economies and policies.<\/p>\n<p>Within the department, a weekly seminar series provides insights into faculty and student interest areas as does the annual Economics Graduate Student Field Poster Session.<\/p>\n<p>The university community convenes each spring for the annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/graduate-multidisciplinary-conference\/\" aria-label=\"Graduate Student Multidisciplinary Conference\">Graduate Student Multidisciplinary Conference<\/a>. Recent presentations there range from analysis on conflict and nutrition in Nepal to whether local environmental regulation impacts siting decisions for U.S. manufacturing plants.<\/p>\n<p>Outside the university, students often present their work at conferences sponsored by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aeaweb.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-label=\"American Economic Association\">American Economic Association<\/a> and the Eastern Economic Association, among others, with funding assistance available from the department and professional organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Our students\u2019 work is fostered by our faculty whose impactful research has been recognized worldwide.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"arrow-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/departments\/economics\/research\/faculty-research\/\" aria-label=\"Learn More about Faculty Research\">Learn More about Faculty Research<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Research With a Global Outlook Our program encourages students to pursue research that analyzes and addresses economic questions that have implications for our understanding of both economies and policies.
