Students can apply for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.clarku.edu\/offices\/research\/funding\/undergrad.cfm\" aria-label=\"funding\">funding<\/a> to support their own research on a project of their choice during the academic year or during the summer.<\/p>\n<h3>Professional Conferences<\/h3>\n<p>Some students attend professional conferences where they present their research and network with other economics professionals. Example include the Association for Public Policy and Management Conference, the Eastern Economic Association, and the American Association of Geographers (AAG) Annual Meeting.<\/p>\n<h3>Fall Fest and Academic Spree Day<\/h3>\n<p>Clark\u2019s annual\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.clarku.edu\/clarkfest\/\" aria-label=\"Fall Fest and Academic Spree Day\">Fall Fest and Academic Spree Day<\/a> are opportunities to share your research or creative work with the Clark community while you hone your presentation skills.<\/p>\n<p>Examples of projects presented by economics students include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Economics and The Olympics<\/li>\n<li>Measuring the Economic Benefits of Commuter Rail Service<\/li>\n<li>Hammering the Sickle: Commodity price level shocks to GDP Growth<\/li>\n<li>A Hedonic Measure of the Effect of Tree Canopy Cover on Real Home Prices<\/li>\n<li>Real estate value and education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Campus Research Publication<\/h3>\n<p>Students may also submit their research results for publication in our student-run <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.clarku.edu\/surj\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-label=\"Scholarly Undergraduate Research Journal\">Scholarly Undergraduate Research Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Research Opportunities The Economics Department sponsors a seminar series where economics majors, doctoral students, and faculty come together to learn about and discuss research trends in the field.
