It starts with the theories of the consumer and the producer, then examines competitive market equilibrium, and finally discusses situations in which efficient resource allocations cannot be achieved in competitive markets. Interspersed with theory, the course contains frequent examples that demonstrate the use of microeconomics in solving problems faced by decision-makers in both the private and public sectors. Concepts, techniques, and results from Calculus are regularly used to facilitate theoretical analysis. The main distinction of this course from Econ 205 is the use of calculus.

Prerequisites: ECON 010, ECON 011, and MATH 120 or MATH 124

Anticipated Terms Offered: Every year

Anticipated Terms Offered: n\\a

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
ECON 206 – Macroeconomic Theory

Examines basic concepts and techniques of statistical method in economic analysis: descriptive statistics, probability theory, sampling distributions, hypothesis testing and simple and multiple regression.

Prerequisites:ECON 010

Course Designation/Attribute: FA

Anticipated Terms Offered: Offered every semester

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
ECON 224 – Applied Game Theory

Game theory is the formal study of situations in which individuals make decisions that will influence one another’s welfare.
