LGBTQ Asylum Task Force
There are many ways in which you can get involved. Asylum seekers in the program often have a wide range of support needs depending on their individual situations. They may need transportation, driving lessons, job preparation/career mentorship, housing search assistance, English practice, translation, legal assistance, and service projects. There is a one time annual fundraiser gala on October 10th and students can take part with set up, check-in, cleanup and other tasks to make the event successful.
The LGBT Asylum Task Force is a church ministry formed in 2008. We welcome LGBTQ people of all faith traditions as we provide housing, food, and connections to legal, educational, medical, and mental health resources at other local agencies.
