A member of Clark\u2019s rowing team, Sara Parvin, a psychology<\/a> major, has been interning in the Neurology Department at UMass Chan Medical School, working with a team that treats people dealing with severe neuromuscular illnesses. The experience has made her aware of the challenges facing patients<\/a> and their families under trying circumstances. She also presented at the Eastern Psychological Association on the human need for physical contact, or \u201ctouch hunger.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parvin recently took the MCAT and will be pursuing medical school after completing a master\u2019s program in clinical counseling psychology at Assumption University, where she was awarded a fellowship. During this time, she hopes to continue building on her clinical and research experience. \u201cI plan to stay engaged in similar work while also gaining more hands-on clinical exposure,\u201d she says. \u201cI\u2019m especially interested in opportunities that allow me to work closely with patients and better understand the day-to-day realities of healthcare.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
