As an articulate spokesman for Clark, you have held the loyalty of her traditional constituencies, evoked the interest of new friends, and negotiated for the first time a productive relationship between private and public institutions of higher learning in this Commonwealth. The University is stronger for having had the benefit of your ten years of leadership.\n<\/p>\n<p>The graduates of 1984 specifically asked that you be made an honorary member of their class because, in their words, \u201cwe have found that his office door was always open to us and his mind was always responsive to our concerns.\u201d Your colleagues in the faculty, the administration, and the Board of Trustees are happy to join in this request from the Class\n<\/p>\n<p>of 1984 and to endorse this spirit.
