Major:<\/strong> Psychology<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clark Days:<\/strong> As a first-year student at the peak of the pandemic in 2020, Healey spent a lonely first semester taking online classes in her Bullock Hall room. \u201cI started wondering if I made the wrong decision,\u201d she says. However, once COVID restrictions began lifting, she started checking out student organizations \u2014 kind of a \u201cspeed-dating process\u201d \u2014 and found her place on Clark\u2019s Mock Trial team. A member for three years, she spent two as a captain. Healey also has been a Wellness Ambassador for two years and served as vice president of Gryphon & Pleides, the University\u2019s honor society. In the classroom, a course called Philosophy of Horror led to Healey presenting her research on various aspects of the horror genre, particularly body horror, at three regional conferences. She also has been part of Clark\u2019s Women in Horror Month since it began in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Post-Commencement Plans:<\/strong> Healey will be working as a DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) case worker with Thrive Behavioral Health. Her job will include helping young adults who are experiencing first-episode psychosis, or who have received a borderline personality diagnosis. She may one day pursue a master\u2019s or even a doctorate in psychology, but wants to see how the next few years play out before choosing her focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflection:<\/strong> \u201cEveryone at Clark is so passionate about at least one thing, and it\u2019s never usually the same thing that you\u2019re passionate about. That\u2019s the whole point of college, really \u2014 to get those practical skills, but also to meet other people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
